Winnie gets along well with other cats. Winnie enjoys treats (temptations specifically!). Winnie spends most of her day laying near a window catching a breeze! Winnie is looking for a home that will spoil her, and give her lots of scratches.

Walking for Wellness is a free program that allows older adults to explore the trails of Conception Bay South. Get out, meet new people, and stay active in a group setting. Walk at your own pace or at the pace of a group. A group leader will meet you at the designated meeting area. Walks will go ahead rain or shine, so please dress appropriately. Walking for Wellness takes place on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. for 8 weeks. Please note that there will be a boil up following the T’Railway West Walk on October 31.

Updated 8/13/2018 Traffic Disruption – Lawrence Pond Road Please be advised of road upgrades along Lawrence Pond Road, from Peacekeepers Way to civic number 55 on Lawrence Pond Road. This construction will extend on Shetland Place and Comerfords Road to the intersection of Tamara Place. Road upgrades will begin on Monday, August 13 and continue until November. Fire Ban – Please be advised that the fire ban in Conception Bay South is now lifted. The Town would like to thank the public for their cooperation Permits Required Permits are required in the Town of Conception Bay South for open air fires, and can be obtained from Fire Station 1 in Kelligrews or Fire Station 2 in Topsail. These permits are free-of-charge. The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador also requires that you obtain a provincial burn permit during the Forest Fire Season. Fireworks can be a fun and exciting addition to any social event. However, please keep in mind that fireworks can also be a form of distress to some children, adults and pets. A permit is required to discharge fireworks within the Town of Conception Bay South. The free permit is available at Station 1 in Kelligrews from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Permits are not required for fireworks displays on Canada Day and New Year’s Eve. This year, the dates are Sunday, October 7 – Saturday, October 13. During Fire Prevention Week, space is very limited for group tours. Always use caution when burning in an outdoor fire pit, wood burning oven, or chimenea. During the summer, many people enjoy gathering around a fire. However, outdoor fireplaces can be harmful if not used properly, and can be bothersome to surrounding neighbours. GUIDELINES Backyard fireplaces should be built into the ground, or on brick, stone or other non-combustible surface with a minimum surface area of 1.5 metres. The Town of Conception Bay South would like to advise residents that the water main flushing program has begun and will continue throughout the summer months. During the flushing process, residents may experience minor water discoloration and pressure changes, however water service should not be disrupted. Flushing is generally conducted between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Water may be cloudy for up to four hours. He has coached numerous sports teams, was a member of the Monument of Honour Committee, and was the Medical Director during the 2016 Newfoundland and Labrador Summer Games. Most recently, he was named the 2017-2018 Conception Bay South and CBS Lions Club Citizen of the Year. The Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling, Boost National, will take place at the Conception Bay South Arena from December 11-16, 2018. The Boost National is the fourth event of the 2018-19 Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling season, and features the top 15 men’s and women’s curling teams from around the world. The 30 participating teams will compete in a round robin format, contending for a combined $250,000 purse and a berth in the Humpty’s Champions Cup, the final Grand Slam event of the season.

The Town of Conception Bay South delivered its 2018 budget at the regular public Council meeting on December 19, 2017.  It is a balanced budget and lays the groundwork for the year ahead while holding the line on property taxes.
