The Town of Conception Bay South today announced a significant step forward in the development of ‘The Gateway.’ On October 20, 2023, the Town signed a commercial listing agreement, securing Colliers as the exclusive real estate broker for the development area. This announcement demonstrates Council’s firm commitment to fostering further economic growth within Conception Bay South.
Mayor Darrin Bent expressed the Town’s commitment to enhancing the local retail landscape, stating that the Town has full confidence in the expertise of Colliers, a renowned name in commercial real estate, to market ‘The Gateway’ and attract retailers and developers from across Canada and beyond.
“Conception Bay South is eagerly awaiting a growing retail presence, driven by our residents’ requests for major retailers. Securing a commercial broker with a strong network and robust marketing engine, as Colliers has, reflects Council’s ongoing commitment to making this happen. Even with very competitive mill rates when compared to our neighbours, our business tax revenues for this year are at their highest in the Town’s history. With continued growth in both the business and residential sectors, Council is confident that our efforts and approach will see further investment, not only in The Gateway, but throughout the Town,” said Mayor Darrin Bent.
“Colliers East is thrilled to be working with the Town of Conception Bay South on their commercial development at ‘The Gateway’. We strongly believe in this development opportunity and look forward to working to make it a success,” said Lloyd Nash, Director of Sales and Leasing, Colliers East.
