The Town of Conception Bay South is extending its gratitude the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) for its dedicated efforts in ensuring the safety of the municipality, particularly in school zones.
The RNC issued 32 speeding tickets during a single school zone traffic initiative in Conception Bay South on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.
“Recently, Council met with the leadership of the RNC to address concerns regarding speeding in the community, especially within school zones. Recognizing the importance of increased presence, the RNC agreed to enhance their patrols. Their proactive measures, such as this initiative, demonstrate their commitment to our residents’ safety and the positive working relationship that has been established,” said Mayor Darrin Bent.
This proactive measure serves as a reminder to all drivers to adhere to speed limits, obey signage, and prioritize the safety of our children by stopping for school buses.
Conception Bay South values the RNC’s collaboration and commitment to maintaining a safe environment for the community.
