Yard Waste

Yard Waste Collection

The Town of Conception Bay South offers a curbside Yard Waste Collection Program bi-annually, in spring and fall, during the following period:

  • June 1-30
  • November 1-30

Yard waste material eligible for collection includes:

  • Grass clipping
  • Leaves
  • Branches and tree limbs

Yard waste collection begins on the first whole week of the month. For example, if June 1 falls on a Thursday, collection will begin on your scheduled curbside recycling day of the following week.

There is no limit to the number of paper yard waste bags placed at the curb for collection.

Yard waste in plastic bags will not be accepted, and can be placed in your garbage cart on your next scheduled regular garbage collection.

The weight limit for bags and bundles is 40 lbs.

Saturated bags from rain will not be collected.

There are many positive benefits to the program, including:

  • Paper yard waste bags are set outside of the automated carts, saving space in the carts for your true garbage.
  • Benefits the environment by keeping the material out of the landfill which extends its life.
  • Financial benefit by saving the tipping fees charged by the Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility.

Your yard waste will be brought to the Robin Hood Bay Compost Facility. You can also bring your paper yard waste bags to the Robin Hood Bay Residential Drop-Off year-round. Click Here for Hours of Operation.

Compostable paper yard waste bags are available at most local hardware stores and building centers.
