Conception Bay South is home to two, beautiful community gardens.

Gateway Garden is located on the grounds near the Conception Bay South Arena on Graham Mifflen Drive. It features a rustic fence, as well as an outdoor classroom and stage area.

Manuels River Garden is located on the grounds of the Manuels River Interpretation Centre, at 7 Conception Bay Highway. This garden features a rustic greenhouse, communal-raised beds and ground-level beds, various vegetable and flower gardens, berry bushes, and a garden library. This site was a collaborative project by the CBS Community Garden, Manuels River, and Rotary Avalon Northeast.

These community gardens give residents the opportunity to learn about growing food and food sustainability. They are a place for the community to come together, enjoy the benefits of gardening, and to take part in special events.

To stay up-to-date on future plans for community gardening, or to become involved, follow the CBS Community Garden on Facebook or Instagram, and sign up for their e-mail updates.
