The Town of Conception Bay South is a family-oriented municipality that strives to provide a wide range of exceptional community programs and activities for residents of all ages.

Summer is more fun with s’mores!

For a week, starting on July 24th, post a picture of your favorite s’more snack. Do you like original s’mores, or do you have your own unique s’more combination?

Post a picture of your s’more treat with the hashtag #smoresummerfun on Twitter, Instagram, or on the Facebook event in the discussion section. You can also email your pictures to

DEADLINE EXTENDED: Pictures will be accepted until August 4 at 4:30 pm. Each post will count as an entry for a chance to win a fun filled s’mores prize pack. Prize includes:

  • S’mores Kit
  • Marshmallows
  • S’more Cookies
  • 4 assorted roasting sticks
  • LED Latern

During the current COVID-19 pandemic, the Town is offering residents opportunities to connect with others in the community, and enjoy activities together without having to leave their homes.

Virtual Bingo

Play along for a chance to win some fun prizes! Pre-registration is required. Our next game will take place on Thursday, August 6, at 7:00 pm. The deadline to register for this game will be Wednesday, August 5, at 4:30 pm. No registration will be accepted after this time.

Participants can play along over ZOOM (please note, you do not need to download ZOOM in order to view the game).

How it works:
1. To play, please email to register. You will need to give your name and email address.

2. You will be sent out 2 Bingo Cards for the night’s games, that can be used to play all Bingo rounds that night. There will be a maximum of 2 cards per registrant. If there are multiple people playing in the same household, their names must be provided, and only they will be able to claim their prize. You will also be sent a link to see the game the day of.

3. Play along with the Bingo game and if you get a Bingo, call in to claim your prize.

Art Contest – Community Cookbook Cover

As part of it’s Foodie Fridays virtual program, the Town will be creating a Community Cookbook, which will be available for purchase. All proceeds of this Community Cookbook will be donated to the CBS / Paradise Community Foodbank.

We are holding an art contest for children ages 6-12 to design the cover of this cookbook. Send us your artwork that shows us what you love about Conception Bay South. The title of the cook book will be “Recipes from the Heart”. Entries should be no larger than 8.5 x 11 inches in size and should submitted by email to

Chair Fitness

Looking for something new? Try Chair Fitness! This 20 min class with guided instruction is a great way to stay healthy and active and is suited for many ages and abilities. Trivia Night

Test your knowledge in our Virtual Trivia Nights! The game will be broadcast through a Zoom meeting by Recreation staff using the Zoom App, which you can download for free. Pre-registration is required. To register, please email and include your intended participant name (ex: Maria’s iPhone, Trevor Trivia, etc.). This will be required to have entry into the game. Trivia takes place on Thursday evenings at 8:00 p.m. This is a general knowledge trivia night with a knowledge level for teenagers and adults.

CBS Soccer Association Daily Challenge

Join CBS Soccer for it’s Daily Challenge!  Watch their video, make your own and Share to the Strikers Fan Page on Facebook – everyone welcome!  Let’s stay active during this time and CBS Soccer is here to help every day!

Gateway Garden is located on the grounds near the Conception Bay South Arena on Graham Mifflin Drive. The community garden gives residents the opportunity to learn about growing food and food sustainability. It is a place where the community comes together to enjoy the benefits of gardening and to take part in special events. To stay updated on future plans for community gardening, or to become involved, search CBS Community Garden on Facebook or Instagram, and sign up for e-mail updates.

This is a free program that allows older adults to explore the trails of Conception Bay South. Walks take place on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. Join a group leader at the designated meeting location for a guided walk around our beautiful town. This is free of charge and everyone is welcome. Walks go ahead rain or shine, so please dress appropriately. For more information, please call 834-6500 ext. 601.

The Recreation Complex has two regulation size squash courts. Equipment is available to rent or you may bring your own. In addition to the  junior and senior squash programs, the Recreation Complex also hosts and organizes the first Canadian Inclusive Squash Program.

Hours of operation for the Recreation Complex:

The public is advised that the Recreation Complex is closed during all statutory holidays and during the annual maintenance of the facility in late August.

Squash courts at the CBS Rec Complex

We are looking for youth from Conception Bay South, between the ages of 13 – 21, who want to be a leader and who want to be engaged and involved in our community.  Support and help with various community activities. Voice your important opinions and ideas. Represent all youth.  Please consider joining the Youth Advisory Council.
