Sustainable Business: The Conception Bay South Sustainable Business Award showcases the achievements of a business in the community that strives toward more sustainable business practices. Businesses are evaluated on their greenhouse gas reduction projects, use of renewable energy sources, sustainable materials usage, water use reduction, general waste reduction, use of sustainable packaging, supply chain process improvements, and specific business process changes.
Community Pride and Partnership: Commercial or home-based businesses who contribute significantly to recreation, amateur sports, community initiatives, arts and culture, education, and/or charitable groups within the Town, promote the spirit of the Town, are committed to their local community, and are proud to be part of the Town’s business network.
New Start Up of the Year: Commercial or home-based businesses who take pride in their business skills, have an impact on the local economy, demonstrated sustainability within the business community, and have been in operation no more than 36 months.
Established Business: Commercial or home-based businesses who have distinguished themselves for their business skills, demonstrated recent notable achievements, are committed to providing exceptional customer service, have an impact on local economy and have been in business longer than 36 months.
Beautiful Business: Commercial businesses who consistently demonstrate pride in the exterior appearance of their buildings and grounds. This award will be granted to two businesses, one operating in a stand-alone (one-tenant) building and one operating in a multiple-tenant building.
Downtown CBS Member of the Year: A member of the Downtown Conception Bay South Business Improvement Association who has strived to contribute to the overall vision of Downtown Conception Bay South, as set out by the Downtown CBS Board of Management.
David Murphy Leadership (Sponsored by the Conception Bay Area Chamber of Commerce): Commercial or home-based entrepreneurs who demonstrate outstanding entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, and/or innovation in their day to day business activities. Businesses must be members of the CBA Chamber of Commerce.
Noseworthy Award (Sponsored by the Conception Bay Area Chamber of Commerce): An employee recognition award that celebrates an individual’s long-service and devotion to their employer. Employers must be members of the CBA Chamber of Commerce.
