Meeting held with Minister of Economic Development & Official Languages, ACOA, MP McDonald and Mayor French

Today, Mayor Terry French met with the Honourable Melanie Joly, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages, Member of Parliament for Avalon, Ken McDonald, and Karen Skinner, Vice President of Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency in Newfoundland and Labrador, to discuss plans and future opportunities for Town of Conception Bay South.

“As a growing municipality, economic development opportunities are always on our agenda. Seeing continued interest and investment in our town from ACOA is a very positive and exciting thing. ACOA has provided tremendous support to Conception Bay South over the years, with investments such as $300,000 to support the Manuels River Natural Heritage Society, Inc. to implement Phase 2A of its River Trail Master Plan, T’Railway expansion enhancements, investments in tourism, infrastructure upgrades to enhance recreation facilities, along with new turf for Topsail Soccer Field.

“We would like to thank Honourable Melanie Joly, ACOA, and MP Ken McDonald for their continued commitment to enhancing and enriching the Town of Conception Bay South. It is always a pleasure to host Government officials to our Town,” said Mayor Terry French.
