Emergency repairs are ongoing on the inner harbour breakwater. To date, just over 90% of the scope of the breakwater repair has been completed. Dredging work has been completed and marine traffic and recreational boaters are now permitted to access the inner harbour. The construction schedule for this work is highly dependent on favourable weather conditions, and is expected to be ongoing, until the emergency repairs are completed.
Repair work will involve numerous large excavators, barge work, and includes the upgrading of approximately 200 meters of the damaged section. The contractor will access the breakwater through Atkins Road, and public access to this area is restricted at this time.
