The Town of Conception Bay South advises of the following facility closures: 

Town Hall & Recreation Complex

Important Reminders

1. 2025 Garbage and Recycling Collection Calendar
As of January 1, 2025, the Town will no longer mail Waste Collection Calendars. This change supports cost reduction and environmental sustainability. Here are the ways you can access your calendar:

  • Online: Visit www.conceptionbaysouth.ca/garbage-and-recycling-schedule to view or download a printable version.
  • Newspaper: Look for the calendar in the December 23 and December 31 editions of The Shoreline News.
  • Search Tool: Use the search feature on our website to quickly find your collection schedule by entering your street name.

2. Proper Placement of Garbage Carts and Recycling Bags

To ensure safe and efficient collection:

  • Leave at least 1 metre (3 feet) of space between your garbage cart and obstacles like parked cars, poles, recycling bags, or snowbanks.
  • Ensure all items are clear of snow and ice. Carts and bags placed on snow piles or obstructed will not be collected.

3. Holiday Recycling Guidelines

The following items cannot be recycled: 

  • Gift wrapping paper
  • Tissue paper
  • Gift bags

4. Christmas Tree Disposal Service

If residents would like to dispose of their real Christmas trees, the Town of Conception Bay South is providing a tree mulching service, with tree drop off available until Sunday, January 12, 2025, at the Robert French Memorial Stadium. The drop-off location is near the gated storage depot next to the stadium parking lot. This is a free service provided to residents. Mulch will be given back if desired. The Town would like to thank Arbotech Management Inc. for their kind donation of the tree mulching machine.
