Fire Ban in Effect
With the current Fire Index rated “High”, the Conception Bay South Fire Department has implemented a Fire Ban effective July 24, 2024. This decision was made in cooperation and collaboration with neighbouring municipalities on the North-East Avalon and will be reevaluated on July 31.
This includes outdoor wood burning appliances, charcoal BBQs and open fires. Propane firepits and BBQs are permitted. The CBSFD is asking residents to exercise caution when using propane firepits and barbeques, keep a hose or fire extinguisher nearby and follow manufacturer’s requirements regarding clearances from combustible materials.
