Join Dan Rubin of Perennial Herbs and Seeds and recent author of Sun, Seed & Soil as he teaches us all about gardening in our special climate. The course is designed for green thumbs and green horns alike, not just beginner gardeners. This course will be chock full of useful information, tips, and tricks. The Ultimate Kelly’s Island Adventure:

Join us this October 1st as we explore Kelly’s Island by water and by land. In partnership with The Town of Conception Bay South and MUG UP Meditation Experience, we have developed this one time only tour for Savour CBS. This experience gives folks the option to explore by Hiking the 6 KM radius of Kelly’s Island or paddling the coastline in our sea kayaks with a guide. Mid-way through this adventure, both the hiking group and paddling group will meet up to enjoy a proper Mug Up by Lindsay Phillips Oates of MUG UP Meditation Experience with warm drinks and snacks. 

There are limited spots available for both hiking and paddling so be sure to reserve your spot by booking below… Who knows, we may even find some of Captain Kelly’s treasure along the way! 

As the seasons change, let’s take a few hours to relieve stress with a guided meditation; a guided mindfulness walk; a nutritious lunch with a focus on mindful eating; a stress reducing workshop, where you’ll identify your stressors and come up with a wellness plan to support in managing them; a gentle movement session to release tension, and a sharing circle.

Join us at the Community Garden to put all of our raised beds to sleep for the winter. We will harvest, wash, and divvy up the product from the communal beds; plant some garlic; work on a harvest-themed craft; and explore the newly-opened Fairy Garden. Hot chocolate will be served. Our rain date will be scheduled for October 2 at the same time.

Nan’s are often known as the best cook in the family because their secret ingredient is that they cook with love. We want to share this love with those who come to eat at the Manuels Rive Cafe.

This week we are featuring Nanny Maureen Harvey! She is taking over the kitchen to bring you her very own delicious meal. Seatings available at 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm. She will be talking about eating healthy on a budget, how to reduce food wastage, and some of her best money saving kitchen tips! Every participant that registers will also receive a budget friendly recipe package full of healthy family recipes. 

Binding your quilt can be one of the most intimidating parts of the quilting process. Join Jennifer in this two-part class and learn how to machine bind your quilt. This class is for beginners and you must have a project to bring that needs to be bound.

Meet us for this beautiful morning walk (3.42km). The walk is guided by a group leader (weather permitting). The meeting location will be at the end of Lawrence Pond Road West. Supplement King will even be set up at the halfway point with their hydration station, and to share some information on their products.

With the post-pandemic shift in work culture from office-exclusive to hybrid and remote, many of us have been working from our homes the last few years. For some people, this has caused major ergonomic problems. Join Rahul Roy, Ergonomics Specialist from 709 Wellness, as he gives us tips on how to work from home productively, while maintaining our highest level of health and wellbeing. 

All registrants will be entered into a prize draw. Two winners will receive a Virtual Ergonomic Spot-Check, which includes a 30-minute virtual evaluation of your workstation, and comes with a report you can use to help improve your ergonomic setup.

In November 2020, trail counters were installed along the CBS T’Railway. We have now hit an incredible milestone – officially over one million trail passes! To celebrate, we’re hosting a free community BBQ. We hope to see you there.
