Annually, the Town of Conception Bay South allocates funding toward the preservation of municipally designated heritage properties. For a full list of these properties, please visit Heritage.
To be eligible to apply for a Heritage Grant, the structure must be designated as a heritage structure by the Town of Conception Bay South. The grant program is for properties only, not persons, groups, or events.
The grant is provided to owners of residential structures, and owners/guardians of other designated heritage structures, or properties in the Town.
The grants are provided for the cost of preservation measures and/or restoration of exterior features only. Items covered under restoration costs may include: labour, shingles, windows, doors, clapboard and architectural features. The application must provide details of the proposed work. The Town reserves the right to inspect the property before and after the work.
A complete and detailed project description is essential when requesting funding.
Accompanying the formal application should be copies of any other relevant documentation associated with the proposal such as:
- quotes/cost estimates
- any project drawings
- supplemental historical information
- images on CD or print
- work schedule
- details of revenue source
- proof of ownership
Criteria for Project Selection

- heritage merit of the structure

- established planning and commitment
- whether or not the structure is in imminent danger of serious deterioration or demolition
- project impact
- building originality and integrity
- geographic location
