Seniors Week is a time to celebrate and honour older adults, those aged 65 and older. During this week, our goal is to promote the well-being of our seniors and foster a sense of community.

Monday, September 25

Seniors Bus Outing
The Town of Conception Bay South is hosting a Seniors 65+ Bus Outing to The Wooden Boat Museum of Newfoundland and Labrador, located in Winterton, on Monday, September 25, 2023. Enjoy a guided tour of the site and lunch at the Blue Whale Lounge (participants buy their own lunch). Transportation is provided by motor coach

Tickets ($10 incl. HST) are available for purchase in-person only, beginning Monday, September 18 at 10:00 am at the CBS Town Hall, Recreation and Leisure Services Department. Max 4 tickets/person. ID for residency is required

Pick-up Locations:

- Conception Bay South Recreation Complex, bus leaves 10:00 am
- Conception Bay South Arena, bus leaves 10:30 am
- Participants can expect to return to Conception Bay South at 5:30 pm

Lunch & Learn

10:00am – 2:00pm at Manuels River Hibernia Interpretation Centre
Presentation from the Seniors Advocate as well as a presentation from techKNOWtutors covering frauds/scams.
Soup and Sandwiches will be served for lunch
Ticket sales ($10 incl. HST) are available for purchase in-person only, beginning Tuesday, September 19 at 10:00 am at the CBS Town Hall, Recreation and Leisure Services Department. Max 4 tickets/person. ID for residency is required

Free Seniors Swim

Wednesday, September 27

Walking for Wellness
10:30 am, meet at Worsley Park

Free Seniors Yoga Class with Sisters in Fitness

Thursday, September 28

Seniors Expo

10:00 am – 3:00 pm at All Saints Parish Hall
Free admission
Canteen items will be available for purchase throughout the day
This event will feature several presenters as well as information booths, from ProActive Wellness Centre, Cal LeGrow Insurance & Financial Group, Seniors NL, TakeCHARGE NL, Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation, and more

Friday, September 29

Free Seniors Library Day
11:00 am – 4:00 pm at the Conception Bay South Public Library

TechKNOWtutors will be onsite providing a one on one support desk throughout the day. They will also be offering 2 different workshops during the event:
