COVID-19 Municipal Update

COVID-19 Municipal Update

Updated January 21, 2022

The Town of Conception Bay South remains focused on providing all essential services, while balancing the ability to provide activities to residents while minimizing the risk of an outbreak.

The Town must acknowledge that in the face of this pandemic, we have challenges with staffing resources due to isolation requirements and leave. Despite this, there is no risk in our ability to provide essential services at this time, such as snow clearing, garbage collection, water and sewer, and fire protection, as these remain top priorities and we will always reallocate resources here first and foremost.

However, what it does mean is that the Town must take a strategic, one-step-at-a-time approach to opening its facilities.

Due to excess cleaning and other safety requirements, we are facing a situation where more staff are needed at a time when less staff are available. Ensuring public safety is of upmost importance and we will only open facilities when we have the resources to do so safely.

Therefore, it is important to note that town facilities may close at any given time due to a possible exposure scenario or from having to reallocate resources elsewhere to provide essential services. Any future facility closures will be posted online at www.conceptionbaysouth.ca and we encourage you to stay up-to-date by visiting our website.
