Part of ‘Invest in CBS’ strategy for progressive, economic growth
The Town of Conception Bay South is proud to officially launch its new business attraction video today on the Town’s YouTube channel. The video, which features the first-hand experiences of local business owners, shows the vast potential of Conception Bay South as an excellent place to invest.
“Conception Bay South is poised to be at the centre of industry and development. With an industry-ready port, significant commercial land potential and a vast workforce, we have a complete offering for businesses. With many unique advantages, our focus is to retain and attract new business. We’ll be investing nearly $1 million in the Economic Development and Tourism Department this year – the most we’ve ever budgeted – to help us achieve our goal,” said Mayor Darrin Bent.
While the business community continues to grow with the support of the Town and its residents, seeing 40 new start-ups in 2021, there is still ample room for growth. The Town’s strong business portfolio includes the Gateway Commercial Park, which has 57 acres ready for development and is positioned to become a one-stop destination. Opportunities span the community’s entire footprint, from the Industrial Park to downtown and beyond. Conception Bay South is suitable for businesses of any size across multiple sectors, all supported by the Town’s strategy for progressive, strategic growth.
“We understand that if more people move to Conception Bay South, the businesses will follow. That’s why another key strategy for us in attracting new business is through continued population growth. Recent census data shows our town remains the second largest municipality in the province, with a 3.7% increase in population and a 7.8% increase in private dwellings since 2016. These impressive numbers demonstrate we’re absolutely a community of choice for both businesses and residents,” said Mayor Bent.
With a population of over 27,000 residents, Conception Bay South remains one of the fastest growing municipalities in the province. The town offers many strategic opportunities and advantages in the commercial, industrial and eco-tourism sectors, and is an ideal location for new and expanding businesses.
