Coastal Sounds is a community choir based in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland and Labrador. The choir was created in January 2007 as a project of The Music Corner in Manuels, NL. In 2011, the choir branched off as its own non-profit community organization, ran by an elected Executive Committee.
Coastal Sounds has performed at a number of different venues, including churches and special events in Conception Bay South, the Kiwanis Music Festival in St. John’s, as well as DF Cook Hall at Memorial University. The choir is comprised mainly of members living in the Conception Bay South area and all come from different musical backgrounds and experiences.
The choir invites new members to join in September and in January. No prior singing experience is necessary and all people enthusiastic about singing and willing to learn are welcome to join.
Rehearsals are currently held on Wednesday nights from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM at the Admiral’s Coast Retirement Centre in Upper Gullies, CBS.
