TOWN OF CONCEPTION BAY SOUTH ADOPTION POLICIES EFFECTIVE MARCH 31, 2000

If you are considering adopting an animal from The Town of Conception Bay South there are some things you should know: 

1. That the Town of Conception Bay South do not charge an Adoption Fee. 
2. That prior to a pet adoption being finalized an agreement must be made between the adopter and a veterinarian to have your chosen animal spayed or neutered. A copy of the receipt showing that the spaying or neutering fee has been paid must be presented to the Humane Services Department prior to release of animal. Expect to pay between $100 to $200 at a local veterinarian. Payment by cash, credit or debit card only. 
3. That any dog or cat adopted from the Town of Conception Bay South will receive a 25% discount of your first vet examination. Available at Woodpath Cat and Dog Hospital only. A copy of your adoption policy must be presented to avail off this discount.
4. That you understand that we cannot guarantee the health of our animals. 
5. That you understand that we cannot guarantee that an animal has received any training or is housebroken. 
6. That you be prepared to have the chosen animal that you adopt as a house pet. 
7. That the animal should not be sold or given to another home unless the Town of Conception Bay South’s shelter is advised of the new owner. 
8. That you understand that the Town of Conception Bay South reserves the right to deny any application with debriefing.
9. That any cat or dog under the age of six (6) weeks will not be available for adoption.
